What a concert on the 6th june, you haven't lost your touch absolutely brilliant. The audience reaction said it all. Thanks for a great evening at the best concert i have ever been too. I don't suppose it was recorded by any chance.

The reunion gig was superb! Thank you oh so very much for this! From start to finish,
nothing short of brilliant. Fantastic! You can't stop at this! I would definitely come back for
another one! Great/perfect line-up, better than ever! I really hope there will be an album!
(not to mention an other chance of seeing Gryphon live again) Absolutely amazing. Thanks!

Just got back to Hull after seeing the triumphant return of Gryphon to the stage at the Queen Elizabeth Hall last night. Truly wonderful, talented, entertaining musicians together again after I last saw them supporting Yes , 32+ years ago. Thank you for making it happen. Be assured it was appreciated and worth all your efforts. Interesting cross section of people in the audience form the more than eccentric to normal people (like me!) and parents with children. And a wonderful timewas had by all. Thank you again.

Just got home from the London concert. What can I say? There doesn't seem to be an adjective adequate enough - the audience's reaction said it all. I thought the performance of Midnight Mushrumps was incredible and very emotional - the band seemed completely taken aback by the audience's response.
It was a real priviledge to have been at the concert and hear Gryphon play live - I've waited 34 years and it was worth it.
Surely this won't be a one off?

I saw them in August of 1975 at the Miami Jai Ali Fronton. They opened for Jethro Tull. At the time I dabbled in Recorder and early music and I was surprised and fascinated by them. The only album I could find at the time was Red Queen to Gryphon 3. I was glad to have it.

hi ......had the cd for years but found a vinyl copy of m-mushrumps last sunday in a record shop in Islington. First heard it aged 7 when my 10 y.o brother used to play it non stop. Just now I put speakers on the wooden floor lying on my tummy exactly mid speakers. Gonna throw my mp3 player away ;-) Glorious sound, (even with the frying pan crackle sound in the background),especailly the bass and the multi tracked recorders. Absolute classic. We're coming to London in June to hear it live.......CAN'T WAIT....hope the rehearsals are going well. THANKS YOU for this reunion concert.

I would like to see Gryphon again and certainly would like to enjoy a bottle of Aveleda Vino Verde with you guys. As we did the night Richard jammed my fingers in a taxi door in Clifton Bristol. The wine took away the pain. I worked for Moose the stage manager of the City Hall Newcastle when Gryphon were on tour with Midnight mushies. Please tell me when you are going to reunite and please 1 bsp I will bring the Aveleda

One of the few things that I remember from the early 70's was seeing Gryphon open a YES concert in Lakeland Florida. I stumbled across your web page by luck. I will order your music know that I found you. Did the musician playing the gourd shaped instrument realy levitate above the stage? Probly not. God I loved the 70's.

A truly inspiring and unique band. Being born in 1989, I thought I had surely missed out on all chances to see this fantastic ensemble perform live. Apparently not! Here's to hoping that a suitable venue is found soon, and that the rock bassoon makes a glorious comeback!
Best of luck with the new album,
Paul

This is an awesome band! Period. I am a huge fan of UK prog. I have featured Gryhpon in my www.Shoutcast.com radio broadcasts. I am the owner of a small hobby business called DRS Records. I want to know about the live CD from 1974 as part of the King Biscuit Flower Hour series. What is the quality of this live music - the track listing are terrific. Is it CD available to purchase?

Gryphon are one truly remarkable band, there self titled debut album is one of the finest medievil folk albums i have ever had the pleasure of owning and listening to, the album is never far away from my turntable so to speak. I regard this album as there finest. I have all the bands albums and I can honestly say they have never let me down. The musicians within' it are sheer class, and they are a band I can never tire of listening from. Right now im listening to the classic track Midnight Mushrumps as i'm writing here, pure perfection.
Upon paying a visit to the bands website, to which is something I myself have not done for sometime. I was gob smacked to hear of the band getting back together again. This is music to my ears. I have never had the pleasure of seeing Gryphon live and to be honest this is something I never thought I would ever get to see. I know the concert as been cancelled to next year, but I sincerly hpe this event comes about, cause I for one will surely be there.
Long live gryphon and god bless all of its members, you have brought me joy and pleasure since the early 70's and will till the day I am no more. God bless you all.

- 33 years ago, Gryphon was the very first album I ever bought as a 15 years old boy with my own Money. This excellent arranged music inspired me to become a musician myself, the soprano recorder being my first instrument and later, for 30 years now, I became a bagpipe and melodeon player.

Thank you, Richard, Brian, Graeme and Dave for your fine music.
Hope to meet you all at the reunion concert.

- I’m going into history here and a big ask.
I am the webmaster of www.aylesburyfriars.co.uk and as you’ll see documents all the gigs as this wonderful club and is approved by David Stopps the promoter.
Gryphon played there as per link below. Do you have any memories of these gigs? Would love to have you on board if you can help. You'll be in good company on there!

- Hi, saw Brian at a New Scorpion Band gig in Dorset. Had to tell him that I saw Gryphon at the Albert Hall supporting Steeleye Span in 1974 as a 'young shaver'. Even asked for an autograph I was so suprised and excited. It was so good to hear Brian's playing as I only have all the records on vinal and no deck! Looking to replace them with CD's. Looking forward to the possible reunion so get it on guy's!!

- Hi fellas. Greatly enjoyed your music in my youth and bumped into Malcolm when I was playing a gig in Angies Bar on Holloway Road yesterday. He prompted me to look you up. Hope your new album and possible gig date come off. I'll be there!! It was a fella called Nick Wright who first introduced me your music and he gave me the Gryphon album as a freebee! Is he still about? He was living in Cricklewood back then (early 70's). All the very best ... Whiskey Mick.

- It's wonderfull to see a website about gryphon because they were a great bunch of muscicians and in holland and pehaps aal over the world they were almost forgotten and that is a sad thing. I knew all their records and i still listen to them. Good luck with your website.

- Thanks for great music, which I've discovered by chance. I work in Polish (state) Radio, having shows devoted to folk & pagan - folk - metal. It would be good to be in touch & prepare Gryphon's invasion to Poland!

Is there any chance of an explanation to the lyrics for "Fontinental Version"? I don't think I've ever come across a weirder set of lyrics in the last 30 years!
Great news that you're thinking of releasing a new album. Please don't rush it, make it a good one ;-)

Hi there, I love the cover art for Red Queen to Gryphon Three, and was wondering if someone could help me with a question: Is that Charles Darwin on the cover? And a related question - does "Red Queen" refer to Van Valen's evolutionary theory of the same name (the theory was published in 1973, before the album, so it seems possible!).
Thank you very much.

I have been listening to Gryphon since I bought Red Queen on Vinyl more years ago than I care to remember, I have just started buying their albums on CD, It seems to have more relevance today than it had in the seventies.

I have been following the band since they went on tour with YES. I used to have a "unofficial" copy of that concert. Wish I still did. Was overjoyed to hear that MM and Red Queen are being re-released here in the states on the 26th. I'm assuming they are re-mastered. I am getting ready to go on vacation to Pawleys Island, SC to visit three other Gryphon enthusiasts. We will be having a Gryphon reunion party. We will have to include watching The DaVinci Code and pay attention to the soundtrack this time! Please keep me posted. Thanks!

Hi David - I'm Mike Sary, from the band French TV. We met at the Gouveia Festival in Portugal a couple of years ago, which was quite a treat for me.
Very excited to hear you guys are re-grouping! What is the line-up? This is definitely my most anticipated release of 2007 [it is 2007, right?]
All the best,
Mike

I'm speechless!!Gryphon regrouping to record a new album in 2007!!Having been a HUGE fan since 1974 and RQTGT this is news that parallels(to me)the arrival of the Fabs back in 1963 after the Kennedy assassination, and how they helped bring joy to and lighten the mood of humans everywhere.Well, their work is done but Gryphon are back for the new millenium and surely we have need for them!! It's time to celebrate the return of Gryphon, hooray!
