Great Page. Gryphonic sounds still rules...

I just discover your music and I love it. Fan of Genesis, Yes and Pink Floyd, I find a lost treasure and I'm gonna try to explore it.

David Eric Shur, Elizabeth, New Jersey, USA.
I first discovered Gryphon when CIRCUS magazine (believe it or not) wrote a brief complimentary summary of "Midnight Mushrumps" which was only available as an import. I also saw them appear with Yes. Too bad more material isn't available.
Great site. Thanks.

  Jack Daiter, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Thanks for making my day. As a relatively new user of the net, I was quite pleased to come across your site. Gryphon was by far one of the most talented bands in the folk/rock genre, and I have faithfully continued to listen to this band over the years since their formation.
Enthusiasts may want to also check out Richard Harvey's recorder career on records cut by the Musica Reservata as well as his solo material, Divisions on a Ground, The Genteel Companion, etc..
Great work and thank you once again for making my day!

After all these years of trying to explain Gryphon to friends and giving up it is great to find so many people that are familiar with them. Red Queen is magical in that I get to retain my youth and listen to truly unique music. Let me know your feelings on the next disc to get.

  Achim Breiling, Germany.
Brian Gulland also plays on Malicornes "Le Bestiaire" (1979), which is very recommended to any Gryphon fan!

Liked the page a lot. I got into Gryphon via Fairport and the early Albion stuff which Graeme Taylor played on. I was lucky enough to see Graeme Taylor tour with John Kirkpatrick last year and his guitar playing is as good as ever. Keep up the good work..

  Ian Stuart-Hamilton, Worcester, United Kingdom.
Love the site - excellent and informative. I've been a fan of Gryphon since their first album after seeing them on (of all things) 'Jim'll Fix It' (A British kids' TV show - I was 12 at the time).

  Amir Fakhri, Brisbane, Australia.
Loved the page. A very beautifull and tastefull site for a unique group of musicians who deserved better recognition than they got.

I am very happy to have found this really great site. What can I say except: Thank you and please keep up the nice work!

  Johan Alme, Bergen, Norway.
Great seeing a Gryphon site. A wonderful site for a wonderful band. It was just about a year ago I discovered them and I fell in love immidiatly. Red Queen to Gryphon Tree was the door in, and I've never left since. I'm too young to have ever seen them live (I'm 22), so let us hope they reunite. Are Gryphon ever going to reform?

Finding your Gryphone page made my day! A beautiful site for beautiful music. I look forward to learning more about one of my favorite groups.

  Danny Blake, Trinity, NC, USA.
What a pleasant surprise to find such a wonderful site. I too saw them open for Yes on the Relayer tour. They nearly blew them off the stage! I've been a huge fan ever since. Keep up the good work. Who knows, maybe the guys will reunite.

  Paul Flackett, Rainow, Cheshire, England.
Excellent site. Good info, great layout. Some more about what the band members are doing now (if any other than Richard Harvey are indeed doing anything) would be appreciated.
January 9th 1997

  Shmulik Krybus, Tel Aviv, Israel.
After arriving to your page by Gibraltar, I went and bought the Collection - It`s great. Although in the beginning I had some difficulties getting into the folk stuff, I got used to it.
I`m also a fan of Gentle Giant and Jethro Tull, and they have a lot in common with Gryphon.
Anyway , keep up the good work !!!

The Web is something else! Just when you thoght you were alone in the universe, along comes the Gryphon homepage! Great work! Historically accurate and done with love. Thanks! You're efforts are not in vain.

  Lee Gaskins, Watchung, NJ, USA.
Great Site... Just wish that more of the progressive groups that folded to 80's and 90's money/commercialism would reform and show people what quality musicianship is!
December 15th 1996

  Dave Schrimpf, Jacksonville, Fl, USA.
Gryphon is too good to be ignored. I think Red Queen is their best, followed closely by Treason. I never knew Midnight Mushrumps existed until visiting your site. How can I get my hands on the CD's? Which sound the best?
December 11th 1996

  Jan Brascamp, Wageningen, The Netherlands.
I ran into Gryphon a month or two ago on the GEPR-site, looking for Gentle Giant-related stuff. I never thought there would be any band as close to GG as gryphon, in some ways I like gryphon even better now.
I like the page very much, beautiful pictures, interesting links. Maybe a little more general info about the albums would be nice.
December 9th 1996

Roy DeRousse, St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
Thanks for the great Gryphon page! I've loved them since seeing them open for Yes on the Relayer tour. You listed some Harvey albums that I was not aware of. I will have to look for them.
December 8th 1996

  Pete Dodd, Muncie, IN, USA.
This page is incredible! It is nice to finally find others out there who know about the magic of Gryphon! Gryphon put me on a 3 year long search to finally get all of their albums on CD (it was quite worth it). Seeing Gryphon live in concert would have been a dream for me.
Let's hope for a reunion and let the beauty of Gryphon's music live on!

Steven R. Hudson, Everett, Mass., USA.
It is great to hear Red Queen.. again after all these years. Sounds as Fresh as when i first heard it 20+ years ago. I think i will seek out the other disks as Red Queen is the only one i am familiar with.
November 30th 1996

Robyn Hilliard, High Point, NC, USA.
Listening to Treason and Red Queen... even twenty years along is a treat and a joy. Even my teen-aged daughters, whose taste is typified by Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissett, like it when I put Gryphon on.
November 13th 1996

  Takuo Watanabe, Ishikawa, Japan.
Thanks for this great web page.
November 11th 1996

  Marc Catera, Rochester, NY, USA.
Great visuals, your effort is well displayed on this page.
Don't stop now we need to know more!
November 5th 1996

  Kodiak Easterwood, Rome, GA, USA.
What with the Gentle Giant "reunion" concept floating about it seems that a reunited Gryphon would make a killer opening act for GG! Talk about heaven huh?
November 4th 1996

  Renato Pozaic, Zagreb, Croatia.
At last... Nice work!.
November 3rd 1996

  Jon Davis, Seattle, WA, USA.
It was only when I came across the CD reissues in a store the other day (and bought Collection 2) that I remembered how much I loved this band. I dug out the old vinyl and nodded my head nostalgicly.
Great pages, very sharp looking.

I just loved to see the Gryphon page on the www. Congratulations. I will pass the word to other Gryphon enthusiasts here in Venezuela. I would like to know what's the better way to get the Gryphon CD's (I´ve got all theyr recordings in vinyl). Thank you very much for the hard work you had put on for all of us.

Excellent presentation. It was great to find this through the many links. So many people don't know what they're missing in not knowing Gryphon's music!
So the 'Gryphon won't fly again' eh? Being only (?)30 years old this year I never saw them - I would love to though...Midnight Mushrumps live in 1997...... now there's a thought!

It's great to see another real good prog page. And all the good old boys who like it. Personally, I'm about to discover the whole Gryphon, but what I've listened is simply from beyond!
September 5th 1996

Patrick "Gonna Go Medieval" Little, Ann Arbor, MI, USA.
Nice nice nice. Now all I need is Netscape... and TREASON on CD. Gryphon has made it to that special category for me, as I play something by them (usually RED QUEEN...) once a week. Only Gentle Giant and the Beach Boys have been graced with this much attention..
September 3rd 1996

  Oz Hardwick, York, England.
A good start to the site... a little more "where are they now" information would be nice. I'll be a regular visitor.

You have a nice design for it (except blinking band faces), which, hopefully, will be appropriately filled in due time. Good job.
