By Car or BusTo get to Gouveia by bus you use one of Portugal's Express buses (see timetable and book tickets on Rede de Expressos website).To get to Gouveia by car, you have a variety of routes to choose: - from Aveiro: A-25 (former IP-5) direction Vilar Formoso, get off the motorway at Mangualde; from there, take the EN-232 to Gouveia; - from Oporto: A-1 direction Lisbon, get off the motorway at Albergaria; from there, take the IP-5 until Mangualde, where you take the EN-232 to Gouveia; - from Coimbra: IP-3 direction Viseu; just before reaching Santa Comba Dão, take the IC-12 (the road sign says 'Guarda. Mangualde') as far as Nelas; at the roundabout by the fountain, take the road to Seia via the EN-231; in Seia, at the first roundabout take the EN-17 to Gouveia; - from Lisbon: A-1 direction Oporto; before reaching Coimbra, take the IP-3 direction Viseu, and before Santa Comba Dão take the IC-12 (the road sign says 'Guarda.
