Flairck To Play Twice at GARFlairck was founded in the Netherlands in 1976. The characteristic acoustic sound of the band, a fusion of very different music styles such as Folk, Jazz, Rock and Classical Music, achieved great success from the very beginning and its music instantly engaged an enthusiastic wide audience.Today, after many years of success, over 22 albums published and thousands of concerts performed all over the world, Flairck opens a new chapter in its history and passes the torch to a new generation. Guitarist, bassist and composer Pablo Ortiz (México), a member of the band since 2007, was tasked to piece together a new line-up. He decided to unite forces with the Aranis’ founder and double-bass player and composer Joris Vanvinckenroye (Belgium), as well its violinist Liesbeth Lambrecht to found the new Flairck. To complete the formation and with the idea of creating a brand-new sound for the new group, violinists Mart Flecijn (Belgium) and Zhazira Ukeyeva (Kazakhstan) were also added to the band. Following in the tradition and characteristic approach of the ensemble and with the guidance and advise of the founder members Erik Visser and Peter Weekers, the new Flairck not only evokes the energy, the power and the theatricality of their musical legend, but also opens new horizons for the project. The repertoire presented in the new performances offers us brand new compositions combined with new arrangements of some of the most emblematic old pieces from the band’s history. |
