I have listed to PH and VDGG since 76, saw VDGG in 76 in NYC, great concert!! After that saw PH solo many times in NYC, and met him. Drifted away for a time and recently started to listen again. A very talented man. Thanks for the site, I am really getting into it.

Old fan since the release of Still Life. Amazed to see that cheerful chirpy Peter Hamill still has such a loyal world wide following.Peter is certainly one of the foremost artists Britain has produced. Accidently finding the site has provoked me to wipe the dust off the albums, but as I'm pushing 40 ,Pete dreading "Pushing Thirty" won't have the same feeling!

Been a VDGG/Hammill fan since the 70's. This music is timeless. It's just so freakin amazing that someone can put out 40 albums without being redundant. Each new album evolves from the previous one and then ventures into unexplored territory. How can a musical genius such as Peter Hammill go so unreconized by the world?
Will be seeing Peter in Philly this November. Can't wait.

This site could not be better. Only Peter could change it. It is essential to keep together the fans (true friends) of this unforgettable way to communicate extraordinary emotions and music.
Please, hold on!

Love the site. I first heard VDGG upon the release of "Godbluff", and honestly, I didn't care for it...until I listened to it again. Now, about 25 years later, it's probably one of my favorites. I have an ever growing appreciation for the works of Hammill and crew. Absolutely top notch songwriting and musicianship!

Van der Graaf Generator and King Crimson are my favourite bands. I had the luck of see King Crimson in México City. I would like to see Peter Hammill in México someday. If Peter Hammill can read this, I must tell him that he has already many fans in México and Chopolandia.
A mexican brother (Ignacio) feels sorry because Van der Graaf hasn't the place that deserves. I think it's better so, than have a very doubtful place created by the marketing, like some overrated bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, U2 and others.

Certainly the best place for a VDGG fan to visit. Of course, a section where all of us could exchange VDGG mp3's wouldn't be a bad idea. Congratulations !

I met Peter Hammill in concert in Kansas City, Feb. 1978. I had painted a portrait of Peter and was lucky enough to present it to him on stage. HIs music is very powerful and moving, and feel lucky to have been so honored. "I've got everyone of your records, man! Doesn't it mean that I own you"?

First, I got the addiction to VDGG; bought ans sovoured all of their albums. Then, I had to go on and bought every single Hammill CD I could get ahold of. Hammill is a genius and I strongly recommend diving into all this master's work. Every CD has something different, beautiful and deep.
Peter, if you ever get to read
We all are very grateful... keep on making music.

What can you say about P.Hammill. We listen to your records since 1974 (time passes so fast) and we still have the same feelings and emotions as then when we discovered you. Thank you, Peter, for you have given to us all these years. Maybe now it's time to organise a world meeting and invite you to play for us under a Greek starless night in a Greek island. We are open in any suggestion to organise this unique"Peter Hammill's Festival".

Many compliments for your Website. I am visiting it since Feb98.
It is the Best Website on the VDGG, which, of course, I like very much (also Hammill's Lyrics) . I prefer the 1969-1976 period, in my opinion the most creative and interesting. I believe VDGG are one of the Best Groups in the History of Rock and in the History of Music. They deserve to be known more.
Your Website is very complete, and we can find there a lot of information on VDGG. It is an excellent meeting point for all who love VDGG.

Estoy bien satisfecho por las páginas publicadas de uno de los mejores grupos sinfónicos que he escuchado. Soy un fiel amante de sus melodías, cambios e intrumentalizacíón acompañado de una lirica alucinante. It's a perfect world of VdGG, your pages and comments.

In the CD "Generators" is mentioned a concert of VDGG in Verona the 6/3/1972. Probably it's wrong, because that date was a Monday. The Sunday before I was At the "dancing" "LEM" to hear what became my favourite group ever. I search for sites of VDGG in Alta Vista and Yahoo for years. I came here via a site named "Il Giardino del Mago". It's wanderful. No words to describe my enthousiasm. And...so many fan all around the world!!!
Long live to VDGG music!!!

Perfect site. I've been looking for a VDGG/Hammill site for some time (used to be on an ASCII newsgroup-list years ago) and this is definitely it. While I have (nearly) all Hammills & VDGG's (been at it for some twenty-four years now), sometimes it's hard to find lyrics. Your site helps, also with the links section etc.
Thanks, I appreciate your efforts.

Living in the states, I get no news ever of PH tours. His music is non existent in our CD stores. I would appreciate being informed or at least steer me in the direction that I can get tour info. I have never seen PH and would go pretty far to see him. Own ever piece of music I can get my hands on of his. Been a fan since '74. Thanks

I have been listening to PH and VDGG since around 1977, and it seems I never get tired... especially not of the 70's material (I am now rescuing my LP collection by copying it to CD for my continued personal enjoyment). I have never seen PH or VDGG live. For many years, I thought PH was a forgotten artist that only a handful cared for, but thanks to the internet and sites like this I know I was very, very wrong ...

I was born five years after the VDGG's split, but their music sounds to me extremely fresh and powerful. I think that Hammill's voice and lyrics connected with great creativity and really "progressive" musicianship of the band created something that cannot be compared with any of the other rock artists.
Thanks a lot for this page!

Since I only 'discovered' VdGG about 6 months ago at a record fair, I find that I really like their music very much indeed, so much so that I have been buying records whenever I can and CDs to satisfy my need for more !!
This web page is so valuable in that for a collector, it shows me what is out there, but also gives valuable background information about Peter's solo material as well.
Keep up the good work and please let me know if you know of a preferable source for material.

It was 1972 when I heard for the first time REFUGEES while raining.
Then, time after time, rain after rain, their music has always in my mind, helping me in troubled times and rolling my dreams.
Only a big THANK for the emotion runs You gave (and give) me.
P.S. I did not believed to find a site like this: CONGRATULATIONS!
P.P.S. Is it possible to find video (PAL) of VDGG somewhere? Please, tell me so!!

I'm a recently converted Van Der Graaf Generator fan, having been put onto their music by a friend {Who said "I'm not sure if you'll like this"}. My favourite tracks are La Rossa, Lemmings, Arrow and Pioneers over "C". I am also a King Crimson and British prog rock enthusiast. What can I say! The best progressive rock music I have heard and what stunning lyrics! Please, if anyone has any video footage, I would love to purchase some.

Brilliant VDGG site. Best that I have found.
Does anyone know anything about a film soundtrack made for an obscure film in the early
seventies. I saw the film once, can't recall the title, and didn't realise that VDGG had made the soundtrack till the credits! As far as I can recall the music was entirely instumental.

VdGG really helped me deal with my own visionary experiance. Darkness is my favorite song and opened the door for the expression of my own sensibility as I am also a poet of similar consciousness. Hammill inspired me to be myself inspite of the rest of my generation going insipidly mellow.
So I plumbed the depths of my own vision even though it was different from the West Coast G. Dead sensibility I was surrounded by. The depth of emotion Hammill expressed made me feel I was not alone in the cosmic night that falls upon our future, that the darkness was full of stars and vision beyond the solar day. Soon I will present my work to the public. Hammill's tenacity helped me on to persevere in my own stone watchtower of perspective.
Commercial music leaves me cold. There was a time I thought I was the only one who loved this stuff with everyone being so conservative. The Web has opened my eyes to a whole new world. It really feels like the New Age is happening and that the Singularity is near. May we sail boldly into the Eschaton!
Thank you..........

On these last years i have been buying the best of classic rock, an Van der Graff sure is a fresh and marvelous group. Every time i listen to their master records i feel sorry how such a great band didn't make it as they deserved. A message to all of its members: thank you!

The last time I've been very impressed by the album 'Enter K'. Since English is not a native language for me I don't understand the lyrics quite well. I thought I could find the lyrics of this album here, but I was wrong.

A great site about a great band! Man, your music can really get me through some rough times, that never heal (but I still bear the wheel).

Well, this is a really GREAT page!!! Really cool and informative, congratulations!
I had the luck to see Peter live here in Athens about one month ago, and I am still astonished form his performance, his voice (the older he grows the better he sings, it seems, but he was always perfect anyway) and his ability to tranport and express so strong feelings through his art. I only own "The least...", "H to He..." and "Vital", but the other releases won't be late! Stay refugees...
p.s.: my page is at http://listen.to/progmetal, it's about progressive metal, all visits welcome, thanx
