This site is really great. I bought 'Pawn Hearts' and have to admit it was one of the best records I ever heard! I was hooked! The graphics on this site is truly awesome, so at least a site that is a worthy represtation of a band like VDGG. I had to download this site for offline reading :)

  Michel Forbes, Longueuil, Quebec Canada.
Very nice Website, Eduardo. The design of your site is very elegant.
I'm a big fan of VDGG since 1975 and even now I'm still enjoying their very inspired music.
Do you have any info about the "highly customized" organ that Hugues Banton was playing? Is anyone has info about their recording techniques?
The recording period of Godbluff to World Record is very interesting, To my knowledge only PJ Harvey last album touch the "deep darkness sound" of this particular period.
Keep up the good work, Eduardo.

I've been a great fan of VDGG for a long time and for this period i've looked for informations over the members activities which are very difficult here in Braziul. So, i'm glad to know that we have now this great page in the net. Congratulations and i'd be happy to know where to find some of the records listed here particularly the live ones.

Hadert von Dicke, Tomsk, Siberia, Russia.
This is a great page, one of the coolest sites I've seen. I think that if anyone who never heard of PH gets there, he'll become interested (especially having read the lyrics:).

I am a huge VDGG/ PH fan and own every album. I do a radio show in town on Thursdays at 5:00 PM on KPSU 1450 AM called Sforzando Capricci Extravaganza, and VDGG/ PH are on my A-play list. My fave albums are HtH, PH, & QZ/PD, and my fave PH solo- everything from '78-'86, especially TFN, PH7, & ABB.

Great page! It sometimes is very lonely being a VDGG fan. Its great to know that there are so many fans out there! I absolutely love their music but not too many people around here (NJ) to share. Keep up the good work!

  Ugo Mazzetti, Forlí, Italy.
Peter Hammill & Vdgg introduced me to the Good Music, when I was 12 years old, in 1970, and are still my favourite. When I married in the 1984 the background music in Church was Refugees (From The Least..). Every think or Web site about PH & Vdgg is a luck for the humanity. Thank you.

  Carlo Leuci, Castelliri, Italia.
I felt very happy when I found out about this great site. I knew that we are not alone!
I'm 41 years old and I played songs like 'Man-Erg' hundreds of times. I bought all the old VDGG on CD and they still give me strong emotions. Thank you gays, good music will never die!
May 16, 1998

  Knut Edvard Viken, Øydegard, Norway.
Great page.
I've recently bought about half of PH's solo albums and Godbluff + Still Life (Which is one of my favourite albums). I would like to get in touch with other followers of VDGG for conversation and exchange of experiences and such.

Not only is this an excellent Van Der Graaf site, loaded with interesting info, I also think it's one of the best progressive-rock sites on the Web! Keep up the good work, Eduardo!

  Alex, Kiev, Ukraine.
Van der Graaf Generator's music is something very special, and it's one of the best art-rock groups I've ever heard. It's dangerous to listen to it too much-you can go crazy!

  António da Silva, Houyet, Belgium..
Thanks, Eduardo... I find your site really GREAT ! I wish I could find such well done sites for every group I like...

Since I've discovered VdGG and Mr. Hammill I am cursed for life to carry with me their music. But what the hell I enjoy this burden!

  Toby Rivas, Ilminster, Somerset, UK..
Hello! Peter Hammill is my godfather - I haven't seen him for many years since my parents split up in 1983, but my sisters and mother still keep in touch with him. I well remember days at his house with his wife and daughters and his magnificent synthesiser in one of his front rooms which produced some of those fantastic Van Der Graaf sounds. I also remember Dave Jackson and his son Jake who often visited with Peter and were good friends to both my parents and myself. My father often accompanied the band on tour and it is one of my lasting regrets that I shall not get the chance to see the band live.
Excellent page by the way; I shall try and keep in touch

Eduardo, thank you for this beautiful VdGG Web page. Your enthusiasm about creating WWW pages devoted to progressive bands is encouraging!
It was very interesting to read Cronology of VdGG.

  Armando Fernández, San Jerónimo México.
In Mexico there are not many people interested in Hamill and Van Der save a few rare specimens like this one. I would like any information on recent Hamill (bootleg or not) productions. I have practically all releases, save the bootlegs shown on the list in this page.
Hats off to the generator!

  Dmitriy Kirillov, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

  Lars Holmquist, Ostindieg, Sweden.
Thanks for a good site. But fellow fans, please reconsider the 80s (80-86), one of PH's finest periods. Judging from the poll results, hardly anyone seems to have noticed.
April 7, 1998

Ricardo Aguilar, San José, Costa Rica .
I really love their music since the moment I heard Pawn Hearts, a lot of time ago. We have a radio broadcast for progressive music, and any contribution would be really apreciated.

  Natalie Rosenberg, Moscow, Russia.
Peter Hammill - one of my most favorite people (not only musicians). All that he does is GREAT. It is so hard to select one thing from his work. My knowledge of English is not well, I can't speak, but read much. And I understand his poetry mostly not by my mind but by my heart.
Thank you, Peter!
Thank you all who hold this site.

Jesús Tapia, Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
Very nice graphics and information about VDGG and PH. I am a true fan since 1980 when I heard Godbluff. Incredible vocal power and harmonies plus superior arrangements. No other group that uses vocals has done this combination better than VDGG, not even Genesis. Genesis are in my opinion in an honorable 2nd. place.
Eduardo, keep up your good work and please bring more information onto the site so we can come here very often. Thanks...!

  Dagmar 41 Klein, Mainz, Germany.
Stylish, stylish!
Actually, I wonder what pH would say about this site now that he's finally gone online... nice rambling collection of stories, pix and stuff - in true VdGG spirit, both exhilarating and confusing! :)
March 9, 1998

  Dimiter Savoff, Sofia, Bulgaria.
I am a fan since 1978 and I still enjoy their misic a great deal. One of the best bands ever. And the new P. Hammill albums are good too! I will visit again soon.

Eric White, University of Pittsburgh, USA.
Great page! Good to know that there is still an interest in Van Der Graf.Having recently bought the compilation, I know i'll probably go back and order all the others.Question: outside of the obvious connection with the Charisma label and Genesis, is there any other information about Whitehead's amazing cover art?
March 5, 1998

  Robert Brandt, Macedonia, OH, USA.
Thanks again for constructing this site honoring a vital band in progressive rock.
March 2, 1998

  George Garbusov, Moscow, Russia.
Thanks a lot for wonderful site. Since I heard "The undercover man"...
In my opinion VdGG's lyrics are the greatest of the world. It helps me to understand something better and believing that it's not cool "to be down". Exlusive thanks to Peter Hammil, who visited Moscow and give a great show at "Gorbushka". I hope that it's not his last visit to us.
Best wishes to all!
P.S Excuse my worst english knowlege:-(

I'm a newly-Internet-user and I wish to express my appreciations towards your work in celebrating VDGG. My life should have been much worse without the music of VDGG and PH. Many thanks to He, Them and You too.

Yet another high quality site by Eduardo Mota! I'm glad this site is here because I don't know much about Van Der Graff, but I'm interested in getting more of their stuff. Thanks for the site and the Reels of Dreams Unrolled link too!
