Musicalmente

Musicalmente - cover MUSICALMENTE was a series of weekly live act broadcasted by Swiss TV on 80's. The PFM show was taped just after the release of Suonare Suonare.

The band was then formed by:
            Franco Mussida - Gibson guitar
Patrick Djivas - Music Man Bass
Franz di Cioccio - Tama Superstar and Octoban drums
Lucio Fabbri - El. violin, Minimoog, Yamaha el. piano,
              Gibson SG guitar, organ
Walter Calloni - Tama Superstar drums

The stage was a PFM standard one, with Di Cioccio and Calloni on a elevated platform, and a lower deck with other members plus the Di Cioccio's standing drumset (1 tom, octobans, cymbals). Fabbri on the left with kbds, Djivas on center and Mussida on the rightside.

The tape lenght is approx. 55 minutes, with a cut before last track....., but the image quality is ok with HIFI Stereo Audio Tracks! Great. If I remember well after 17 years, the cut is on "Pescatore" (a Fabrizio de Andre' song) and........(brain oferflow)....

All members are very happy, expecially Djivas on his 80s look. Two and half drums on a stage for two drummers.... not so common..... First times without Premoli and with a young Fabbri.

4 Holes on the ground and Volo a vela
The show open with "4 Holes in the ground", the standard opening tune of PFM acts, followed by "Volo a vela" from the Suonare Suonare album. Fabbri perform a great Minimoog work on this song, replacing Premoli. Di Cioccio and Calloni playin' together, like twins!. Not a solo voice, but a full band chorus, less Calloni.

Il banchetto
Fabbri wear a Gibson SG ("the little red devil..") and perform a nice 2nd guitar.
The first song with Di Cioccio as lead vocal. Franz put many drumsticks on his pockets...
Mussida and Fabbri: a great duo. Both drums at work.
Djivas play like a 8-V Turbo.
At the end, Franz introduce the band.

Clinics
Clinics (not "Tanti Auguri" as on the sleeve) is the 1980 evolution of PFM's live jam. Played by Di Cioccio and Djivas ("the rhytm' twins") spreading from rock to jazz.
Patrick sound rensemble much to Pastorius...
When the band comin' back, Djivas hold a steel foil in front of a microphone and Franz use it as a flexible drum with many strange effects. The final is a full-band jam.

Maestro della voce
A VIS (Very Important Song) for PFM and expecially for Franz. "Maestro della Voce" is dedicated to the memory of Demetrio Stratos, Area's singer and writer and Di Cioccio's friend.

Si puo' fare (including "Impressioni di Settembre")
"Si puo' fare" run like a train with an unchained Di Cioccio as front man.
The final is "Impressioni", with Mussida dubbing the standard moog riff.

Celebration (including Di Cioccio and Calloni drum solo)
A standard issue of celebration with the two "Hammer's twins" playin' together.

        The show is over.
Comments? All good. Suggestions? Buy it if you can....
